London City Island

London City Island is situated on a peninsular, surrounded by the snaking River Lea. An ecological park, and Canning Town underground station, lie on the other bank of the river. The site has been developed, from an existing large industrial estate/contaminated land, into a multiuse residential area for professionals working in the city of London.
In-Ex landscapes were contracted to design, supply and install the landscaping package on the London City Island Project.
The site, due to it being a peninsula, had some pre-existing logistic restraints. LJH were pro-active in the knowledge that logistics would need to be planned, and organised, for the construction of the site to run efficiently.
LJH were tasked to finish the exclusive project; with our high expertise of paving, groundworks and hard landscaping.
LJH’s main contract, involved the complex installation of the public squares that enveloped the open-air fitness pool. LJH were tasked with the completion of approximately 7,000m2 of granite setts to the residential squares.
This area is a high traffic area, and will be seen by most of the people living/visiting the site. LJH are thoroughly pleased to be handpicked to carry out this specific area; as it highlights our quality and reinforces the trust, in LJH’s work, that contractors have.
LJH were glad to be a part of this project, and have had lots of praise for the quality of the installation. The English national ballet has decided to move to this location, so this must be a testament to how good the paving installation is!
